As a small independent business, GROUND aims to provide accessible massage therapy to everyone at a prime location in East London.
Massage needn't be secluded to just 'spa date' enthusiasts or as a small treat to oneself every once in a blue moon. Our daily lives demand so much from our physical and mental health. Massage therapy helps to provide essential maintenance to the body and cultivates awareness to bodily wellness.
Chrissie initially started her massage journey on a whim during a backpacking trip through South East Asia in 2015. She took a crash course in Traditional Thai Massage in Bangkok and immediately fell in love with the movement and the belief of energy lines transmitting all through the human body.
When Chrissie returned to the UK, she went on to complete her Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology in Massage in order to get her continually growing skillset accredited. She completed a certificate in Deep Tissue so she could combine massage with her other passion - rock climbing - to help other climbers with rehabilitation and overall performance. Eventually she went to pursue massage full-time, and it was through this that GROUND was born.
Her other experiences include working for registered charities such as Crisis UK and The Stress Project, where treatment is provided to GP referred clients with stress-related illnesses, such as anxiety or PTSD.
Today, as well as providing treatments at a women's centre in Camden, she has collaborated with Studio Iris to build a beautiful space in Hackney.
